Many new Honda models come standard with integrated boundary lights in the turn signals, meaning the front turn signals illuminate permanently and serve as position lights. This type of boundary light is a legal configuration, as all new Honda models are homologated and approved with this configuration. An EU law has made this possible since 2016, and Honda immediately implemented it.

If these original continuous-light turn signals are replaced with 2-in-1 accessory turn signals, the front turn signals will illuminate permanently but dimmed. This is not E-compliant for 2-in-1 combination lights consisting of a white position light and a yellow turn signal, as the necessary approvals are missing.

The HIGHSIDER BL CONTROL-BOX CB4 offers a solution to this problem. The HIGHSIDER BL CONTROL-BOX CB4's task is to convert the output signal from the OEM 2-pin turn signal/position light connector, making it possible to install E-approved 2-in-1 turn signals in an E-compliant manner. The HIGHSIDER BL CONTROL-BOX CB4 converts the single signal coming from the vehicle and splits it into separate turn signal and position light signals. This prevents the turn signals from dimming yellow. Furthermore, the position light switches off during the turn signal operation and switches back on (with a slight delay) after the turn signal operation. With an optional coming-home function for the position light. After leaving the motorcycle, the position light remains illuminated for a certain period and then switches off automatically.
